  • What is SmartTouch?
    SmartTouch is a powerful, mobile widget-platform that uses text messaging to provide the user with a rich, branded, graphic, and interactive experience. SmartTouch gives you access to a large base of content and services comprising a diverse set of categories including information, entertainment, social networking, retail, food services, banking & payments, etc. from many of the brands you know and trust. There are no short codes to remember and no syntax rules to follow in order to interact with these services.
  • What are widgets?
    Widgets are mini-applications that run on the SmartTouch application on the mobile phone. Widgets allow you to access specific content and services available via text messaging in an intuitive manner. The user experience is much superior than using a mobile web browser and does not require a data plan. Widgets can be downloaded and managed by the user as explained in “Managing Widgets” below.
  • How much does SmartTouch cost?
    SmartTouch is free to the user. Since SmartTouch uses text messaging to send and receive messages when you access content and services, you may incur standard text messaging charges from your operator. If you have a text messaging plan, such messages will be applied to your text plan. For details about your plan and text messaging charges, please contact your operator. Certain content and services accessed through the widgets, such as retail purchases and transactions, paid subscriptions, Premium SMS content, etc. will incur their own associated charges and are not covered by SmartTouch.
  • Does SmartTouch require a data plan?
    SmartTouch does not require a data plan. However, one-time data charges may be incurred when the application and/or widgets are downloaded wirelessly based on your service plan with your operator. For details about your plan and data charges, please contact your operator.
  • What cellular operators does SmartTouch support?
    SmartTouch currently works on all cellular operators in the US.
  • What phones does SmartTouch support?
    SmartTouch currently supports Windows Mobile and Pocket PC phones. We are actively working to enable many new devices on various operators’ networks. Stay tuned or enroll here to be informed when our application is released on new devices. Below are the devices SmartTouch currently supports:

  • How do I share SmartTouch with my friends?
    It’s easy to share SmartTouch with your friends. On the SmartTouch Home screen of the application on your phone, click on the “Options” softkey, select “Tell a Friend” and then answer follow the few instructions steps. You may also tell your friends to text STOUCH to 95495. Lastly, you may use the “Tell a Friend” tab on our website to inform your friends.

REGISTRATION
  • How do I register with SmartTouch?
    You may register with SmartTouch through our website. Also, you may register by texting STOUCH to 95495 and we will text you back with instructions.
  • What information do you collect from a user?
    SmartTouch collects the user’s name, email address, and phone information such as your phone number, phone model and your operator for registration purposes. We use the information to provide you with the right application to match your phone model, allow you to download and manage your widgets on the phone or from the web by logging in, and to inform you about upgrades, new widgets, etc. We do not share your information with third parties without your permission.
  • How do I delete SmartTouch from my phone?
    On your windows mobile or pocket PC phone, go to "Remove Programs" and follow the instructions to remove SmartTouch. You may need to remove more than one file that starts with “SmartTouch...”. We recommend that after you have removed SmartTouch, you restart your mobile phone.
GETTING STARTED
  • What settings do I need on my phone?
    SmartTouch does not require you to change any settings on your phone. The application will adjust to your existing settings.
  • How do I download and install SmartTouch?
    There are 3 ways you can initiate, download and install SmartTouch.
    1. Via the web: Once you register as a user on the SmartTouch website, you will receive a text message on your phone with a link to our mobile download page. Clicking on the link will open your mobile web browser and begin the application and widget download. Once downloaded, the application will automatically install itself. Your phone may ask you for permission to connect to the web and to download and install the application. To proceed, you will have to say YES (or OK) in each case (please note that standard data charges may apply for wireless download).
    2. Via SMS on your phone: Once you register as a user through your mobile phone, you will receive a text message with a link to our mobile download page. Thereafter, follow the instructions above to download and install the application on your phone (please note that standard data charges may apply for wireless download).
    3. Via side loading from the PC: To begin, you will need to physically connect your mobile phone to the PC using your phone’s USB connector and verify your phone is recognized by your PC. Thereafter follow the instructions on our website. Select "Download to PC" and follow the instructions (from your phone manual) to side load the application.
MANAGING WIDGETS
  • What is the Widget Catalog?
    The widget catalog is a collection of widgets that are available on SmartTouch. The widget catalog can be accessed by clicking on the “Options” softkey on the SmartTouch Home screen on your phone. A catalog of widgets can also be found on our website. Once your have registered, you may log in and access the catalog through our website.
  • How do I manage Widgets?
    You may manage, discover and download widgets on your phone through the SmartTouch widget catalog. The widget catalog can be accessed by clicking on the “Options” softkey on the SmartTouch Home screen on your phone. You may look for specific widgets by name or by category. Once a widget is selected you may download the widget by clicking on it and following the instructions.
    Managing widgets is also possible through our website once you have registered. Simply log in to the website, go to the widget page and select or delete the widgets you want downloaded or deleted respectively and press “download.”
  • How do I delete widgets?
    Click the “Options” softkey on the SmartTouch Home screen on your mobile phone. From this menu, select “Advanced” and then “Delete Widget.” Repeat this procedure if you want to delete more than one widget.
TROUBLESHOOTING
  • Why can’t I find SmartTouch on my phone?
    Once installed, the SmartTouch application resides in the “Programs” folder on your Windows Mobile or Pocket PC phone. For other phones, it resides in the downloaded applications page. If you can’t find SmartTouch on your phone, it may not have installed correctly. Please try to reinstall by logging in to the website and downloading the application again with the appropriate widgets selected as explained the Getting Started section above.
  • How do I reinstall SmartTouch if I deleted it?
    If you have deleted SmartTouch, simply follow the download and installation instructions to use the application and its widgets as described in the Getting Started section above. There is no need to re-register.
  • How do I get my forgotten password?
    If need to request your SmartTouch password, go to our website www.smarttouchmobileinc.com and click on the link next to “Forgot your password?”. Enter the email address you used during registration and SmatTouch will send you your password via email.
  • How do I contact SmartTouch customer support?
    To begin, please look at the FAQs provided by SmartTouch to assist you. If your question is not answered in our FAQs, send email to support@smarttouchinc.com. Please state briefly the reason for your support request and specify your user ID (email used during registration) and phone number. Someone from our support team will contact you via email or by phone.
